Reverse Osmosis Equipment

Reverse osmosis is a multi-stage water treatment method that eliminates impurities from unfiltered water, or feed water, by forcing it through a semipermeable membrane. Residential reverse osmosis systems use at least three rounds of treatment to minimize levels of almost every pollutant type. In the last stage, the RO membrane, water flows from the membrane’s more concentrated side (more pollutants) to its less concentrated side (fewer contaminants), providing clean drinking water. The fresh water generated is known as the permeate. The remaining concentrated water is referred to as waste or brine.

Iron Removal Plant

Iron removal plants extract iron and manganese from water. The plants utilize different filtering mediums based on the iron and manganese concentrations, oxygen level, CO2 content, and hardness of the water.

According to the National Drinking Water Quality Guidelines, the recommended limit for iron in water is 0.3 mg/l (ppm), which is based on taste and appearance rather than any adverse health effects. For example, when the concentration of iron in water surpasses 0.3 mg/l, we see red, brown, or yellow discoloration on clothes, glassware, dishes, and domestic fixtures like bathtubs and sinks. Water may also have a metallic taste and an unpleasant odor. Aside from that, corroded and broken pipes are caused by an excess of iron in the water.
